Pedro Gueifão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacinto Sousa having to interfere. Canaviais FC's Domingos Carvalho suffered a concussion in the 9th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marco Aguiar during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 10th match minute, Ordins FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marco Aguiar to maneuver through the defense. Rogério Nogueira struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Jacinto Garcia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Canaviais FC. After a defensive mix-up in Ordins FC's zone, Óscar Moura stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jacinto Garcia came out of the goal and Óscar Moura tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Mariano Barbosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 18th minute, Óscar Moura left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Canaviais FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Jacinto Garcia stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Óscar Moura's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. Jacinto Garcia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Óscar Moura, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Armando Macedo's late challenge caught a Canaviais FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Armando Macedo helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Canaviais FC booed when Ordins FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Armando Macedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jacinto Sousa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Armando Macedo in the 40th minute of play.
