Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Alberto Torres got the match started through his kick off. In the 7th minute, Marmelos FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Daniel Fernandes fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Albertino Amaro in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vasco Abreu saved Marmelos FC from getting behind. In the 12th minute, Albertino Amaro fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. If Albertino Amaro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Alberto Torres sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vasco Abreu made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Daniel Fernandes sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Marmelos FC's zone, Daniel Fernandes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vasco Abreu came out of the goal and Daniel Fernandes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 25 minutes, Albertino Amaro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sousel's supporters crossed their fingers, but Albertino Amaro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mário Martins hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Américo Costa came free with the goalkeeper in the 29th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Vasco Abreu could save by the left post. Lourenço Aguiar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Torres, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Albertino Amaro was the one to do the kick off. Alberto Torres might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lourenço Aguiar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alberto Torres ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cláudio Dantas during the 64th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 64th minute, one of Sousel:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Sousel. 83 minutes into the match, Sousel's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Torres came free, but Lourenço Aguiar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rui Castro during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 86th match minute, Sousel was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rui Castro to maneuver through the defense. When Cristiano Cunha came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Marmelos FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristiano Cunha couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Sousel's Eusébio Vale got a free kick in the 89th minute. In the 95th minute, Joel Leiria hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Daniel Fernandes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 99th minute. Vasco Abreu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marmelos FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
