Spectators: 33 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Jorge Pires started the match with the kick off. 5 minutes into the match, SC Assumar's goal looked a bit too open when Paulo Coelho came free, but Humberto Fontes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Paulo Coelho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Penalva's supporters rose to their feet, but Paulo Coelho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Humberto Fontes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 15th minute, Jorge Pires left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Assumar fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 20 minutes into the game, Ricardo Coelho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Humberto Fontes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 25th minute Paulo Coelho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Humberto Fontes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Filipe Ferreira fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Penalva's protests and gave Filipe Ferreira a yellow card for diving instead. After 32 played minutes Penalva got a freekick which was hit by Filipe Ferreira. The audience was convinced that Paulo Coelho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Humberto Fontes was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. Paulo Coelho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. During the 47th minute of the match Filipe Ferreira completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Filipe Ferreira a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, Penalva's Filipe Ferreira got a free kick in the 48th minute. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When Fábio Carneiro came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the SC Assumar fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fábio Carneiro couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jorge Pires in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alexandre Coelho prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 58 played minutes Penalva got a freekick which was hit by João Porto. Ricardo Coelho kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Fábio Carneiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fábio Carneiro's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Alexandre Coelho firmly grabbed it by the left post. 67 minutes into the game, Jorge Pires cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Alexandre Coelho was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Penalva's Alexandre Coelho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to save Penalva from getting a goal against them. Jorge Pires fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexandre Coelho having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jorge Pires in the 79th minute of play forced Penalva's goalkeeper Alexandre Coelho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If André Faria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alexandre Coelho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fábio Carneiro in the 91st minute. Mário Leiria recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Paulo Coelho fell near the penalty area in the 98th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Penalva's protests and gave Paulo Coelho a yellow card for diving instead. In the 99th minute, Rogério Pinheiro sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Penalva's Alexandre Coelho didn't even have to move. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched SC Assumar eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
