After 3 played minutes Cumeira got a freekick which was hit by Gaspar Moniz. In the 4th minute, Gaspar Moniz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 6 minutes of play, Gajao FC's Nuno Coimbra made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cândido Ferro was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Afonso Sousa fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cumeira's protests and gave Afonso Sousa a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Cumeira's Afonso Sousa got a free kick in the 11th minute. After having played for 12 minutes, Nuno Coimbra managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gajao FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nuno Coimbra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. David Matias might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cândido Ferro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. David Matias ran back to his position shaking his head. Lourenço Santarém sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Nuno Amorim's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jaime Gomes was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nuno Amorim stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Nuno Coimbra reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Cândido Ferro. The goal made the score 0-3. Nuno Coimbra's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cândido Ferro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. 61 minutes into the match, Gajao FC's goal looked a bit too open when Lourenço Santarém came free, but Jaime Gomes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Nuno Amorim's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jaime Gomes was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. 65 minutes had been played when some careless play by Gajao FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Nuno Amorim hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. 85 minutes into the match, Nuno Coimbra dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Cândido Ferro, 1-4. Jaime Gomes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nuno Amorim, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Cândido Ferro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nuno Coimbra in the 95th minute of the match. Gajao FC played a much better game than Cumeira and deserved their victory. The Cumeira players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
