Emanuel Pires showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Castro in the 4th minute of the match. SC Monsao's Rui Guarda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Leite in the 9th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Luís Leite kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Rui Guarda. That made the score 2-0 in the 31 minute of play. Rui Guarda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Leite, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
