Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Eusébio Alves started the match with the kick off. In the 11th minute, Mafra FC's Francisco Moura seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Francisco Moura the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Mafra FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Francisco Moura had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 11 minutes into the game, one of Mafra FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Catarino Andrade took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gustavo Gomes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 25th match minute, Mafra FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexandre Leiria to maneuver through the defense. Armando Paiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of Pegas booed when Mafra FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amílcar Cardoso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gaspar Leite took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 32nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Catarino Andrade. Mafra FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 38 minutes into the game, Pedro Borges was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mafra FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pegas the free kick. Jorge Sá's late challenge caught a Mafra FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jorge Sá helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Pegas's Jorge Sá got a free kick in the 47th minute. The Mafra FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Pegas were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gustavo Gomes was the one to do the kick off. If Diamantino Matias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 71st minute Alfredo Neves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Catarino Andrade saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Mafra FC's zone, Alfredo Neves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Catarino Andrade came out of the goal and Alfredo Neves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Gustavo Gomes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pegas's supporters rose to their feet, but Gustavo Gomes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Catarino Andrade breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Mafra FC's zone, Diamantino Matias stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Catarino Andrade came out of the goal and Diamantino Matias tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gustavo Gomes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Catarino Andrade having to interfere. When Diamantino Matias came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Pegas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Diamantino Matias couldn't finish the play. Diamantino Matias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Catarino Andrade having to interfere. Pegas's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
