A collision led to Sete getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Emílio Branco hit a great ball. Cristiano Queiróss short, quick shot in the 6thth minute got Rogério Amorim to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Mariano Tavares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Mariano Tavares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Tiago Moura fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rogério Amorim having to interfere. In the 26th minute, Cristiano Queirós got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 27th minute, Cândido Cardoso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Afonso Pinheiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 44th minute, Mariano Tavares made a precise shot to the right of Ricardo Aleixo. Sete's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. The Sete players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. SC Refugio were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cristiano Queirós was the one to do the kick off. Rogério Amorim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tiago Moura, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Joel Setúbal fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Refugio's protests and gave Joel Setúbal a yellow card for diving instead. Delfim Jesus hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Mariano Tavares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tiago Moura in the 69th minute of play forced SC Refugio's goalkeeper Rogério Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Tiago Moura had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of SC Refugio booed when Sete was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nuno Matos didn't get a good kick on the ball. SC Refugio's Mariano Tavares got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tiago Moura sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ricardo Aleixo was out of position in the 87 minute of play, and Mariano Tavares capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Mariano Tavares really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. Mariano Tavares recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rogério Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristiano Queirós in the 98th minute of the match. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. SC Refugio had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
