In the 12th minute, Vicente Mota got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Arcos FC's Vicente Mota got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With his leg Rafael Vaz managed to avoid a goal in the 21stth minute, when Fatela's Pedro Rocha fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The supporters of Fatela booed when Arcos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vicente Mota didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ricardo Mota in the 32nd minute of play forced Fatela's goalkeeper Cláudio Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rafael Vaz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Bessa, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. When Pedro Rocha came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Fatela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedro Rocha couldn't finish the play. If Pedro Rocha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Fatela's Cláudio Almeida got control of the ball when Vicente Mota tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind Fatela's goalkeeper Cláudio Almeida, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 81st minute, Ricardo Mota fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Cláudio Almeida, passed just outside the right post. José Bessa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Rafael Vaz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
