In the 2nd minute, David Fontes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. António Leal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armindo Luz having to interfere. 5 minutes into the game, Jorge Correia was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Trindade's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Montes the free kick. Bernardo Henriques fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armindo Luz having to interfere. António Leal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armindo Luz having to interfere. Emílio Lima sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 19 minutes into the match, SC Trindade's goal looked a bit too open when António Leal came free, but Armindo Luz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristóvão Nunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gonçalo Miranda having to interfere. Hélder Castro kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. The supporters of SC Montes booed when SC Trindade was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorge Correia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bernardo Henriques sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. António Leal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 34 minutes, António Leal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Montes's supporters crossed their fingers, but António Leal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Bernardo Henriques came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the SC Montes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bernardo Henriques couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, SC Montes's Gonçalo Miranda got control of the ball when Alexandre Machado tried to sneak it across the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Emílio Lima made the kick off in the second half. Armindo Luz made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Bernardo Henriques sent off a good shot on target. After 57 played minutes SC Trindade got a freekick which was hit by Jorge Correia. After 61 played minutes SC Trindade got a freekick which was hit by José Alves. 65 minutes into the match, SC Trindade's goalkeeper Armindo Luz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bernardo Henriques. Bernardo Henriques was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 67th minute. SC Montes's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. António Leal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 72 minutes, Cristóvão Nunes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Trindade and the SC Montes players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 72nd match minute, SC Trindade was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristóvão Nunes to maneuver through the defense. SC Montes's Bernardo Henriques got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by António Leal in the 75th minute of play forced SC Trindade's goalkeeper Armindo Luz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 78th minute, SC Trindade's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Bernardo Henriques fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexandre Machado in the 82nd minute of play forced SC Montes's goalkeeper Gonçalo Miranda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Emílio Lima might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gonçalo Miranda. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Emílio Lima ran back to his position shaking his head. Lourenço Luz hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Viriato Mota didn't quite understand what happened when in the 90 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. 94 minutes into the game, SC Montes's Bernardo Henriques nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Armindo Luz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
