Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Afonso Faria started the match with the kick off. António Leal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. António Leal struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Gaspar Miranda didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Montes. After having played for 11 minutes, António Leal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Montes's supporters crossed their fingers, but António Leal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alexandre Amaral during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Povoacao getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Alexandre Amaral hit a great ball. Bernardo Henriques could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Gaspar Miranda made a huge save. When SC Montes's António Leal in 18 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Gaspar Miranda guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Alexandre Amaral hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Povoacao's goalkeeper Gaspar Miranda, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Povoacao's zone, Bernardo Henriques stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gaspar Miranda came out of the goal and Bernardo Henriques tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bernardo Henriques sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Gaspar Miranda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from António Leal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 43rd minute, Júlio Morais left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Povoacao fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Afonso Faria sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The wind increased when António Leal made the kick off in the second half. António Leal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Gaspar Miranda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Afonso Faria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 57 played minutes SC Montes got a freekick which was hit by Hélder Castro. António Leal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gaspar Miranda read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. In the 66th minute, Bernardo Henriques left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Montes fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. When David Queirós fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Povoacao's protests and gave David Queirós a yellow card for diving instead. After 78 played minutes Povoacao got a freekick which was hit by David Queirós. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling António Leal in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gaspar Miranda prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If António Leal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in SC Montes's zone, Afonso Faria stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gonçalo Miranda came out of the goal and Afonso Faria tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The SC Montes supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Povoacao's performance. The match ended with a win for Povoacao.
