SC Samel's Júlio Tavares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albertino Ribeiro in the 14th minute of play. If Albertino Ribeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albertino Ribeiro in the 19th minute of play forced SC Samel's goalkeeper Júlio Tavares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Xavier Nogueira struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Joaquim Neves didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Samel. If Henrique Paredes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 39th minute Pintainhos FC were awarded a corner. Simão Araújo went to the cornerflag to take it. Albertino Ribeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Júlio Tavares having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 43 minutes, Miguel Amorim put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Júlio Tavares. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Xavier Nogueira made the kick off in the second half. When SC Samel's Henrique Paredes in the 52nd minute got a chance for a shot 52nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Pintainhos FC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 54th minute, Henrique Paredes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 55 minutes into the game, Carlos Esteves was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pintainhos FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Samel the free kick. After 55 played minutes Pintainhos FC got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Esteves. Miguel Amorim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Albertino Ribeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pintainhos FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Albertino Ribeiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Júlio Tavares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Júlio Tavares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miguel Amorim, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. After 82 minutes of play, Pintainhos FC's André Azevedo made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Júlio Tavares was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in SC Samel's zone, Albertino Ribeiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Júlio Tavares came out of the goal and Albertino Ribeiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 91st minute, Henrique Paredes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Joaquim Neves was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Tomás Veiga's late challenge caught a Pintainhos FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tomás Veiga helped the player get up and apologised. In the 94th match minute, SC Samel was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomás Veiga to maneuver through the defense. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Pintainhos FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
