Manuel Assunção showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mariano Brás in the 3rd minute of the match. Bruno Pinheiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manuel Assunção having to interfere. When Fernando Barros came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Cogambreiro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fernando Barros couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lourenço Borba in the 18th minute of play forced Cogambreiro's goalkeeper Vítor Matias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 24th match minute, Cogambreiro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Xavier Costa to maneuver through the defense. Eduardo Cruz, 25 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Bruno Pinheiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 29 minutes into the game, Cogambreiro's Fernando Barros nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Manuel Assunção made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bruno Pinheiro during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Cogambreiro's Bruno Pinheiro got a free kick in the 33rd minute. After having played for 38 minutes, Adolfo Pedroso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Arroios's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adolfo Pedroso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 45th minute, Lourenço Borba ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vítor Matias was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Adolfo Pedroso stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Arroios's Adolfo Pedroso dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. In the 57th minute, Arroios's Adolfo Pedroso ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Vítor Matias. Vítor Matias yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. Arroios's Manuel Assunção played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bruno Pinheiro in the 61st minute of play. Gustavo Vale hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. In the 73rd minute, Lourenço Borba left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Arroios fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. After a defensive mix-up in Cogambreiro's zone, Lourenço Borba stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vítor Matias came out of the goal and Lourenço Borba tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Arroios's Daniel Ramos got a free kick in the 81st minute. Lourenço Borba hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. After having played for 85 minutes, Fernando Barros managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cogambreiro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fernando Barros was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Adolfo Pedroso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 96 minutes into the match, Cogambreiro's goal looked a bit too open when Adolfo Pedroso came free, but Vítor Matias reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Arroios eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
