After a defensive mix-up in SC Moreiro's zone, Joaquim Lisboa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joel Campos came out of the goal and Joaquim Lisboa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 7 minutes, Abel Gaspar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gorgoco FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abel Gaspar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 8 minutes, Armindo Marques mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Moreiro and the Gorgoco FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Armindo Marques hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. If Lúcio Viana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 11 minutes into the game, SC Moreiro's Paulo Matias nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alexandre Brás made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. If Lúcio Viana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 21st minute, Lúcio Viana left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gorgoco FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. When Paulo Matias fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Moreiro's protests and gave Paulo Matias a yellow card for diving instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lúcio Viana in the 28th minute of play forced SC Moreiro's goalkeeper Joel Campos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Joaquim Lisboa fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gorgoco FC's protests and gave Joaquim Lisboa a yellow card for diving instead. After 31 played minutes Gorgoco FC got a freekick which was hit by Joaquim Lisboa. When Gorgoco FC's Lúcio Viana in the 36th minute got a chance for a shot 36th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SC Moreiro's goalie prevented a goal. Alexandre Brás took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Armindo Marques, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lúcio Viana to strike the kick off in the second half. Gorgoco FC's Alexandre Brás played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vicente Anjos in the 54th minute of play. Paulo Matias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexandre Brás having to interfere. The supporters of SC Moreiro booed when Gorgoco FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joaquim Lisboa didn't get a good kick on the ball. SC Moreiro's Joel Campos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lúcio Viana in the 65th minute of play. Abel Gaspar charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Abel Gaspar the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Abel Gaspar kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Alexandre Brás showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vicente Anjos, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Joaquim Lisboa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joel Campos having to interfere. Abel Gaspar's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joel Campos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. Abel Gaspar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
