After having played for 4 minutes, António Pinheiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Luzim's supporters crossed their fingers, but António Pinheiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Nuno Matos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alexandre Macedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from António Pinheiro in the 19th minute of play. The supporters of Luzim booed when Cimalhas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Armindo Silva didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Rafael Lisboa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Luzim's supporters rose to their feet, but Rafael Lisboa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alexandre Macedo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Cimalhas getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Armindo Silva hit a great ball. Luzim's Paulo Matias proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Luzim from getting a goal against them. In the 29th minute, António Pinheiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 30th match minute, Cimalhas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Armindo Silva to maneuver through the defense. Alexandre Macedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rafael Lisboa in the 31st minute of the match. Gabriel Rodrigues took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 33rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Alexandre Macedo. Cimalhas's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 37 minutes into the match, Cimalhas's goal looked a bit too open when António Pinheiro came free, but Alexandre Macedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 43rd minute, one of Cimalhas:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Cimalhas. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rafael Lisboa to strike the kick off in the second half. António Mota hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. In the 64thth minute of the game Rafael Lisboa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cimalhas's Alexandre Macedo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Luzim's zone, Nuno Matos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paulo Matias came out of the goal and Nuno Matos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cimalhas's Alexandre Macedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafael Lisboa in the 74th minute of play.
