After a rather tough play, Moimenta FC's Luís Guerreiro got a free kick in the 5th minute. If Júlio Sá had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 8 minutes into the game, Pedro Araújo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Moimenta FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pauso FC the free kick. After 10 played minutes, Pauso FC's Armindo Brito shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Filipe Moreira came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Pauso FC reached it. Tiago Baptista's late challenge caught a Moimenta FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tiago Baptista helped the player get up and apologised. In the 12th minute, Tiago Baptista hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Artur Pires took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexandre Andrade, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tiago Baptista in the 16th minute of play forced Moimenta FC's goalkeeper Filipe Moreira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Pauso FC getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Mariano Matias hit a great ball. 25 minutes into the match, Pauso FC's goal looked a bit too open when Alexandre Andrade came free, but Artur Pires reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Basílio Carvalho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Artur Pires made a huge save. Artur Pires made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Basílio Carvalho in the 29th minute of play. 33 minutes into the match, Pauso FC's goal looked a bit too open when Alexandre Andrade came free, but Artur Pires reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 37 minutes into the match, Pauso FC's Júlio Sá sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Filipe Moreira narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Júlio Sá had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alexandre Andrade in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Artur Pires prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tiago Baptista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Filipe Moreira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Júlio Sá struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Filipe Moreira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pauso FC. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alexandre Andrade to make the kick off. In the 51st match minute, Pauso FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Armindo Brito to maneuver through the defense. Pauso FC's Artur Pires played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexandre Andrade in the 55th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Júlio Sá managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pauso FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Júlio Sá was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Filipe Moreira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alexandre Andrade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Alexandre Andrade came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Moimenta FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alexandre Andrade couldn't finish the play. Tiago Baptista recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Júlio Sá fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filipe Moreira having to interfere. Moimenta FC's Filipe Moreira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Júlio Sá in the 81st minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Alexandre Andrade managed to get in a good position for a shot.
