After 8 played minutes SC Sampaio got a freekick which was hit by Adolfo Leão. After 10 played minutes SC Sampaio got a freekick which was hit by Lourenço Nunes. Oliveira Mota took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 10th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Alexandre Macedo. SC Sampaio's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Amílcar Barros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Viriato Freitas kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. After 24 played minutes, SC Sampaio's Basílio Magalhães shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gonçalo Valente came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SC Sampaio reached it. In the 26th minute Amílcar Barros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexandre Macedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Amílcar Barros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexandre Macedo having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bernardo Maia got free with Alexandre Macedo in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 35th play minutes Amílcar Barros shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Alexandre Macedo and just under the crossbar into goal. After 40 played minutes Maiorga FC got a freekick which was hit by Raul Castro. In the 48th minute of the match, Amílcar Barros tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Alexandre Macedo saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pedro Teixeira to strike the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Bernardo Maia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Maiorga FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Bernardo Maia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alexandre Macedo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gonçalo Valente made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Teixeira in the 61st minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in SC Sampaio's zone, Amílcar Barros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alexandre Macedo came out of the goal and Amílcar Barros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Amílcar Barros struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Alexandre Macedo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Maiorga FC. In the 69th minute Amílcar Barros suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Jorge Antunes's late challenge caught a Maiorga FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jorge Antunes helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Maiorga FC booed when SC Sampaio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorge Antunes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Manuel Monteiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gonçalo Valente having to interfere. Pedro Teixeira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gonçalo Valente having to interfere. In the 82ndth minute of the game Pedro Teixeira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Maiorga FC's Gonçalo Valente was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Bernardo Maia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee ended the match the Maiorga FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
