Carlos Azevedo made a great header on Escapais's corner, it was just that Argeriz FC's Ricardo Baptista managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 15th minute, Jaime Garcia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Argeriz FC's André Gaspar got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 21 minutes into the match, Mariano Lima had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Francisco Brito. Escapais's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mariano Lima was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Catarino Resende kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. After 40 played minutes Argeriz FC got a freekick which was hit by Pedro Paiva. João Moniz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Ricardo Baptista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The audience was convinced that André Gaspar's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Francisco Brito was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. Daniel Fonseca's late challenge caught a Argeriz FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Francisco Brito showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from André Gaspar in the 83rd minute of the match.
