Sandro Lima sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 24th minute, Inácio Veiga left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Marchicao fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Francisco Leite in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pedro Dias prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Francisco Leite fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Dias having to interfere. Pedro Dias showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Humberto Costa in the 31st minute of the match. If Francisco Leite had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Humberto Costa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pedro Dias having to make a save. Sandro Lima could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Alexandre Pacheco made a huge save. Sandro Lima fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexandre Pacheco having to interfere. Alexandre Pacheco was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Inácio Veiga showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 43 minute of play. Pedro Dias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisco Leite in the 47th minute of play. Tiago Pinto's late challenge caught a Atalaia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tiago Pinto helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Atalaia booed when SC Marchicao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tiago Pinto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Atalaia's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jorge Bessa in the 50th minute. The corner ended in Jorge Bessa almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but SC Marchicao's Pedro Dias did a great save.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Inácio Veiga to make the kick off. SC Marchicao's Sandro Lima got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 58th minute Sandro Lima shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexandre Pacheco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 60 minutes into the match, SC Marchicao's goalkeeper Pedro Dias had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Humberto Costa. Francisco Leite struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Pedro Dias didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Atalaia. Tiago Pinto hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. If Inácio Veiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Francisco Leite's late challenge caught a SC Marchicao's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Francisco Leite helped the player get up and apologised. Tiago Pinto got his second yellow card in the match during the 83rd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. 85 minutes into the match, Atalaia's Jorge Bessa broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. SC Marchicao's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
