After a defensive mix-up in Macainhas FC's zone, Gaspar Cardoso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Queirós came out of the goal and Gaspar Cardoso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 8th minute, Joaquim Amaro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Joaquim Amaro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Martinganca's Pedro Cardoso got a free kick in the 16th minute. 18 minutes into the game, Catarino Santos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Martinganca's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Macainhas FC the free kick. Catarino Santos hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gonçalo Soares made a kick off. After 51 minutes, Pedro Cardoso mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Martinganca and the Macainhas FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Pedro Cardoso kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Joaquim Amaro's late challenge caught a Macainhas FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. David Carneiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gonçalo Soares, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Gaspar Cardoso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Carlos Queirós tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Martinganca's Miguel Assunção couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 94th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Macainhas FC. The Macainhas FC support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
