Benavente's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that José Pacheco was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Vicente Branco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorge Henriques in the 11th minute of play. 13 minutes into the game, Cristóvão Neto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Benavente's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Pedrosa the free kick. In the 13th minute, Cristóvão Neto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 16thth minute of the game Joaquim Amaro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Benavente's Vicente Branco was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. SC Pedrosa's Joaquim Amaro got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Jorge Henriques's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vicente Branco was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. Vicente Branco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorge Henriques, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 36 minutes into the game, Joaquim Amaro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Vicente Branco was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Miguel Lopes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jorge Henriques fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vicente Branco having to interfere. 45 minutes into the game, Jorge Henriques cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Vicente Branco was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gabriel Costa to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miguel Lopes in the 51st minute of play forced SC Pedrosa's goalkeeper Hugo Marques to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Miguel Lopes came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Benavente fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Miguel Lopes couldn't finish the play. Joaquim Amaro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vicente Branco having to interfere. Hugo Marques stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Miguel Lopes's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. Hugo Marques showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gabriel Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. The crowd rose to their feet as SC Pedrosa's Joaquim Amaro slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Vicente Branco. That made the score 0-5 after 75 minutes of play. When José Pacheco fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Pedrosa's protests and gave José Pacheco a yellow card for diving instead. In the 80th match minute, SC Pedrosa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Pacheco to maneuver through the defense. In the 84th minute, Cristóvão Neto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Benavente fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-5. If Joaquim Amaro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 90 minutes, Joaquim Amaro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Pedrosa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joaquim Amaro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Benavente's zone, Jorge Henriques stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vicente Branco came out of the goal and Jorge Henriques tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Benavente getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. David Pereira hit a great ball. The Benavente supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching SC Pedrosa's performance. The match ended with a win for SC Pedrosa.
