Catarino Pinho was extremely unlucky when he, in the 32nd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Chapinha's Alexandre Andrade got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Sebastião Borba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mário Ramos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Catarino Pinho in the 46th minute of play. Catarino Pinho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Mário Ramos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Catarino Pinho was the one to do the kick off. The corner ended in Luís Martins almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but SC Ovadas's Mário Ramos did a great save. After a defensive mix-up in SC Ovadas's zone, Emílio Fonseca stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mário Ramos came out of the goal and Emílio Fonseca tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of SC Ovadas booed when Chapinha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Campos didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot by Eduardo Silva from long distance, 67 minutes into the match, got António Delgado's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After a rather tough play, Chapinha's Eduardo Pacheco got a free kick in the 69th minute. In the 71st minute, SC Ovadas's Cláudio Leão ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind António Delgado. António Delgado yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. After having played for 75 minutes, Filipe Vieira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Ovadas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Filipe Vieira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Chapinha's defense didn't have a chance, in the 79th minute, when Filipe Vieira scored to the left of an out of position António Delgado, making the score, 1-2. If Cláudio Leão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to SC Ovadas getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Albertino Monteiro hit a great ball. If Sebastião Borba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. Chapinha's António Delgado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albertino Monteiro in the 97th minute of play.
