Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Oliveira Coelho took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 3rd minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Telhaes's goalkeeper Fernando Delgado, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Luís Vieira took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 5th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for José Moniz. Merelhe FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 7 minutes into the match, SC Telhaes's goal looked a bit too open when Afonso Porto came free, but Fernando Delgado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 9th minute, Afonso Porto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fernando Delgado was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Fernando Delgado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Afonso Nogueira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 20 minutes into the match, Afonso Porto notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of SC Telhaes's Fernando Delgado. Fernando Delgado was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Afonso Porto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 33 played minutes, SC Telhaes's Joaquim Lima shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper José Moniz came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SC Telhaes reached it. 35 minutes into the match, SC Telhaes's Joaquim Gaspar sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that José Moniz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Rui Gueifão hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. José Moniz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oliveira Coelho, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Afonso Nogueira was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 47th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Afonso Porto to strike the kick off in the second half. Oliveira Coelho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manuel Araújo in the 54th minute of play forced Merelhe FC's goalkeeper José Moniz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Merelhe FC's Afonso Porto got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fernando Delgado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Afonso Porto in the 64th minute of play. José Moniz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oliveira Coelho in the 66th minute of play. Rogério Nascimento kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Afonso Porto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Merelhe FC booed when SC Telhaes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joaquim Gaspar didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 73rd minute, António Brás sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and SC Telhaes's Fernando Delgado didn't even have to move. Thanks to some nice moves Afonso Nogueira could shoot a difficult shot in the 75th minute, which Fernando Delgado however easily saved by the left post. After a defensive mix-up in SC Telhaes's zone, Afonso Porto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fernando Delgado came out of the goal and Afonso Porto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With his leg Fernando Delgado managed to avoid a goal in the 80thth minute, when Merelhe FC's Afonso Nogueira fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 82 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Merelhe FC! If Afonso Nogueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Afonso Nogueira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Fernando Delgado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 96th minute, Lúcio Alves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Merelhe FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
