Marrancos FC's Eusébio Tavares proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save Marrancos FC from getting a goal against them. In the 10th minute Daniel Teixeira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eusébio Tavares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 15th minute, Pedro Moutinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Marrancos FC getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Miguel Melo hit a great ball. In the 34th minute, Gil Brito hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Gil Brito fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Taipinhas's protests and gave Gil Brito a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, SC Taipinhas's Gil Brito got a free kick in the 36th minute. The supporters of Marrancos FC booed when SC Taipinhas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gonçalo Gomes didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Eusébio Matos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Marrancos FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Eusébio Matos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tiago Pinheiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mário Alves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 49th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eusébio Tavares having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Teixeira stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Marrancos FC's Eusébio Tavares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mário Alves in the 57th minute of play. Daniel Teixeira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Eusébio Tavares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eusébio Matos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Daniel Teixeira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience was convinced that Mário Alves's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eusébio Tavares was relentless in the 68th minute of the game. After having played for 72 minutes, Tiago Ramos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Marrancos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tiago Ramos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tiago Pinheiro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tiago Ramos in the 75th minute. Tiago Pinheiro made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Tiago Ramos sent off a good shot on target. Eusébio Tavares came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by SC Taipinhas's Mário Alves. But to his dismay, Mário Alves quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. The audience was convinced that Eusébio Matos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tiago Pinheiro was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. 96 minutes into the match, Marrancos FC's Tiago Ramos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tiago Pinheiro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some careless play in the SC Taipinhas defense, Júlio Gaspar kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tiago Pinheiro. The SC Taipinhas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tiago Pinheiro should have stopped the shot. Marrancos FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
