An unexpectedly hard shot by Jorge Araújo in the 23rd minute of play forced Tarei's goalkeeper Afonso Brito to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Tarei's zone, Gil Leão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Afonso Brito came out of the goal and Gil Leão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half SC Jazente were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gil Leão to make the kick off. Nuno Bessa kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Afonso Brito stood somewhat misplaced when Gil Leão came free in front of goal and shot 0-3 to the left of him in the 55 minute. In the 59th minute, Lourenço Sá hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Paulo Dantas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Bernardo Santos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing SC Jazente would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
