If Afonso Morais had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. SC Carapito's Pedro Macedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cláudio Silva in the 17th minute of play. Cláudio Silva's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedro Macedo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. The supporters of SC Cestais booed when SC Carapito was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manuel Cruz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cláudio Silva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Pedro Macedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Armindo Garcia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. João Gomes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, SC Cestais's Hélder Azevedo got a free kick in the 47th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Adelino Leiria to strike the kick off in the second half. Pedro Macedo made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Cláudio Silva sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 65 minutes, Cláudio Silva managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Cestais's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cláudio Silva was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Adelino Leiria in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg João Gomes saved SC Cestais from getting behind. When Paulo Santos fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Cestais's protests and gave Paulo Santos a yellow card for diving instead. Paulo Santos kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. João Gomes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Adelino Leiria's shot from short distance in the 81st minute. Armindo Garcia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Gomes having to interfere. In the 91st minute, Afonso Morais got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 92 minutes, Filipe Cruz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Cestais and the SC Carapito players grew even worse after the yellow card. Filipe Cruz kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
