An unexpectedly hard shot by Amílcar Branco in the 5th minute of play forced Navelongo's goalkeeper Sérgio Moura to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ricardo Gueifão didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Heitor Azevedo went, in the 8th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 11th minute of the match Manuel Neves sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ricardo Gueifão skillfully saved the ball. Heitor Azevedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo Gueifão having to interfere. If Rui Esteves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amílcar Branco's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sérgio Moura read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. Heitor Azevedo scored 0-2 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ricardo Gueifão, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Cruz in the 29th minute of play forced Mei FC's goalkeeper Ricardo Gueifão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gil Barbosa lost his temper 31 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee gave Navelongo a penalty, 33 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Carlos Tavares, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Mei FC's Ricardo Gueifão. 0-3. Diamantino Baptista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Sérgio Moura tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Carlos Cruz came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Navelongo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlos Cruz couldn't finish the play. Diamantino Baptista's late challenge caught a Navelongo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Diamantino Baptista helped the player get up and apologised. After 46 played minutes Mei FC got a freekick which was hit by Diamantino Baptista. In the 47th minute, Jorge Pacheco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half Navelongo were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Amílcar Branco made the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Carlos Cruz got free with Ricardo Gueifão in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Heitor Azevedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Augusto Paiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amílcar Branco scored 1-3 in the 64th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sérgio Moura, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Carlos Cruz came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Navelongo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlos Cruz couldn't finish the play. An unexpected shot in the 79th minute by Heitor Azevedo got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Carlos Cruz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 84th minute, Ricardo Andrade hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Amílcar Branco's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sérgio Moura was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. If Amílcar Branco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Navelongo walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
