The referee ignored Navelongo's protests and gave Jorge Pacheco a yellow card for diving instead. Safarujo FC's Júlio Borba proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Safarujo FC from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Navelongo's Sérgio Moura got control of the ball when Hélder Correia tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Safarujo FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Safarujo FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
