Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Catarino Almeida took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 3rdth minute of the game Viriato Matos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Paiois FC's João Lima was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Viriato Matos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but João Lima read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 7th minute of play. Vasco Baptista took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Artur Ribeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Catarino Almeida fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vasco Baptista having to interfere. 18 minutes into the match, Caratao's goal looked a bit too open when Catarino Almeida came free, but Vasco Baptista reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Catarino Almeida struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Vasco Baptista didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Paiois FC. Artur Ribeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vasco Baptista having to interfere. Artur Ribeiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bruno Delgado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vasco Baptista having to interfere. In the 37th minute Artur Ribeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vasco Baptista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Caratao getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Amadeu Pires hit a great ball. Vasco Baptista made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Artur Ribeiro in the 39th minute of play. Viriato Matos was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 44th minute. Caratao's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Viriato Matos to make the kick off. If Viriato Matos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 74 minutes into the match, Caratao's Cláudio Correia sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that João Lima narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 81 minutes into the match, Caratao's goalkeeper Vasco Baptista had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Artur Ribeiro. João Lima made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cláudio Correia in the 83rd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Viriato Matos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Caratao's supporters rose to their feet, but Viriato Matos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. João Lima breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match had gone on for 89 minutes, José Simões put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of João Lima. After 94 played minutes Paiois FC got a freekick which was hit by Mariano Correia. Caratao were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Paiois FC for a fine match.
