Ulgueira's Tomás Baptista proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 4th minute of the match, managed to save Ulgueira from getting a goal against them. Cristiano Magalhães received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Vítor Viegas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vítor Viegas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Viegas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vítor Viegas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Viegas in the 17th minute of play. Tomás Baptista showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sebastião Rodrigues, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Ulgueira's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Sebastião Rodrigues 21 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. If Jaime Leal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Abel Jesus hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Ricardo Matias hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. SC Faifa's Vítor Viegas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by André Borges in the 30th minute of play. 39 minutes into the match, Ulgueira's goalkeeper Tomás Baptista had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jaime Leal. If Cristiano Magalhães had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sebastião Rodrigues to make the kick off. Sebastião Rodrigues kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. After 53 played minutes Ulgueira got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Assis. Joaquim Simões's late challenge caught a Ulgueira's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joaquim Simões helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, SC Faifa's Joaquim Simões got a free kick in the 55th minute. André Borges fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vítor Viegas having to interfere. In the 59th match minute, Ulgueira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rui Fernandes to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Ulgueira getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Marco Pedroso hit a great ball. Jaime Leal might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tomás Baptista. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jaime Leal ran back to his position shaking his head. Joel Nogueira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Tomás Baptista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
