Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Domingos Coelho started the match with the kick off. 7 minutes into the match, SC Quintiao's André Assunção sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that João Assunção narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 7 minutes, Amílcar Leal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Fadagosa and the SC Quintiao players grew even worse after the yellow card. Marco Mota might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over João Assunção. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marco Mota ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 13th minute André Assunção shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Assunção saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in SC Fadagosa's zone, Miguel Costa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. João Assunção came out of the goal and Miguel Costa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, SC Quintiao's Afonso Araújo got control of the ball when Simão Neto tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 19th minute Domingos Coelho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Afonso Araújo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, SC Quintiao's Sandro Azevedo got a free kick in the 22nd minute. If Domingos Coelho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Afonso Araújo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Simão Neto in the 25th minute of play. In the 27th minute, Luís Melo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Afonso Garcia's shot from long distance in the 28th minute was not bad at all, but SC Quintiao's Afonso Araújo knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. André Assunção struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. João Assunção didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Quintiao. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Domingos Coelho managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Fadagosa's supporters rose to their feet, but Domingos Coelho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Afonso Araújo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Simão Neto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 46 minutes, Emanuel Miranda mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Quintiao and the SC Fadagosa players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 46 played minutes SC Quintiao got a freekick which was hit by Emanuel Miranda. SC Quintiao's Afonso Araújo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 48th minute of the match, managed to save SC Quintiao from getting a goal against them. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

In the 52nd minute, Miguel Costa reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of João Assunção. The goal made the score 0-1. 59 minutes into the game, SC Fadagosa's Domingos Coelho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Afonso Araújo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. If Miguel Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 73rd minute Miguel Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Assunção saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Júlio Santarém took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 76th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for João Assunção. SC Fadagosa's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 77th minute, André Assunção got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in SC Fadagosa's zone, André Assunção stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. João Assunção came out of the goal and André Assunção tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Domingos Coelho in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Afonso Araújo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Marco Mota charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marco Mota the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of SC Quintiao booed when SC Fadagosa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gaspar Teixeira didn't get a good kick on the ball.
