Rodrigo Castro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of SC Salto booed when SC Lapela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lucas Cruz didn't get a good kick on the ball. António Moutinho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cristiano Lima read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. After having played for 28 minutes, António Moutinho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Lapela's supporters crossed their fingers, but António Moutinho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that António Moutinho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cristiano Lima was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. If Joaquim Gaspar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. João Guarda hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Duarte Brás fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristiano Lima having to interfere.
