The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hélder Machado during the 48th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

When Alfredo Queirós came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the SC Orjo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alfredo Queirós couldn't finish the play. The supporters of SC Orjo booed when SC Aveleira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hélder Machado didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 83rd minute, Henrique Alves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, SC Orjo's Américo Soares got control of the ball when Joaquim Aguiar tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfredo Queirós in the 91st minute of play forced SC Aveleira's goalkeeper Álvaro Lima to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Álvaro Lima took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henrique Alves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. For all the effort they put into the match, the SC Aveleira players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for SC Orjo.
