In the 4th match minute, Fazenda FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Armindo Queirós to maneuver through the defense. Rui Gueifão struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Manuel Amaral didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fazenda FC. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rui Gueifão in the 9th minute of play forced Dourada's goalkeeper Manuel Amaral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luís Amaral hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. With an all-out effort, Dourada's Cândido Torres threw himself towards the right post 21 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Fábio Cardoso, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Manuel Amaral stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Xavier Baptista's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. 31 minutes into the match, Fazenda FC's goalkeeper Cândido Torres had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Xavier Oliveira. In the 34th match minute, Fazenda FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Armindo Queirós to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Fazenda FC's zone, Fábio Cardoso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cândido Torres came out of the goal and Fábio Cardoso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 39 minutes into the match, Dourada's goal looked a bit too open when Rui Gueifão came free, but Manuel Amaral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Manuel Amaral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rui Gueifão in the 42nd minute of the match. The supporters of Fazenda FC booed when Dourada was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfredo Correia didn't get a good kick on the ball. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rui Gueifão to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Xavier Baptista fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 54 minutes into the match, Fazenda FC's Xavier Baptista sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Manuel Amaral narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 57 minutes into the game, Dourada's Fábio Cardoso nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cândido Torres made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Fazenda FC's Cândido Torres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fábio Cardoso in the 63rd minute of play. After 66 played minutes Fazenda FC got a freekick which was hit by Luís Amaral. In the 67th minute of the match Basílio Pires shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cândido Torres showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 70th minute Xavier Oliveira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cândido Torres saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dourada's Manuel Amaral proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Dourada from getting a goal against them. Manuel Amaral made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Xavier Baptista sent off a good shot on target. In the 75th minute, Afonso Neves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Dourada's Rafael Paiva got a free kick in the 77th minute. If Xavier Baptista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Armindo Dias hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Xavier Baptista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 93rd minute, Fábio Cardoso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Fazenda FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
