To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rui Guarda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Luís Moutinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rui Guarda stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52ndth minute of the game Cristiano Veiga who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lalim FC's Lucas Tavares was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Lalim FC's Rui Guarda got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of SC Lordemao booed when Lalim FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marco Neves didn't get a good kick on the ball. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lucas Tavares showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Júlio Cunha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rui Guarda in the 93rd minute of play. Rui Guarda's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Júlio Cunha read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play.
