The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Hélder Queirós could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 4th minute of the match, but Jorge Araújo made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hélder Queirós got free with Jorge Araújo in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luís Marques fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorge Araújo having to interfere. Jorge Araújo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luís Marques's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. Pedro Jesus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cândido Viana having to interfere. In the 27th match minute, SC Resouro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abel Viana to maneuver through the defense. Escouras's Jacinto Barros couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 28th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for SC Resouro. Jorge Araújo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Marques in the 29th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in SC Resouro's zone, Luís Carneiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cândido Viana came out of the goal and Luís Carneiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 32nd minute, Alberto Brito hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pedro Jesus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cândido Viana having to interfere. Jorge Araújo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Marques, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

Alexandre Paiva kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. After 60 minutes, Luís Marques made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Escouras's Jorge Araújo tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Jorge Araújo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hélder Queirós, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cândido Viana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Jesus in the 76th minute of the match. Jorge Araújo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hélder Queirós, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. If Luís Marques had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jorge Araújo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hélder Queirós in the 88th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hélder Queirós in the 90th minute of play forced Escouras's goalkeeper Jorge Araújo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Artur Castro charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Artur Castro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Escouras players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for SC Resouro.
