Joel Amorim scored 1-0 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Afonso Viegas, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jorge Delgado in the 18th minute of play forced Lagarteira's goalkeeper Miguel Reis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 20th minute of the match SC Orelhudo got a corner. Lagarteira's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Júlio Faro ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Júlio Faro got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Miguel Reis quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. If Jorge Delgado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Joel Amorim got free with Afonso Viegas in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 39 minutes into the game, Jorge Delgado cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Miguel Reis was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 44 minutes into the match, SC Orelhudo's goal looked a bit too open when Hélder Silva came free, but Afonso Viegas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Afonso Viegas to make the kick off. Afonso Viegas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Amorim, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. A collision led to SC Orelhudo getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Lourenço Dantas hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albertino Monteiro in the 61st minute of play forced SC Orelhudo's goalkeeper Afonso Viegas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Joel Amorim managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lagarteira's supporters rose to their feet, but Joel Amorim was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Afonso Viegas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jorge Delgado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lagarteira's Miguel Reis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Afonso Viegas in the 70th minute of play. Joel Amorim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alfredo Amaral during the 79th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 79 played minutes SC Orelhudo got a freekick which was hit by Alfredo Amaral. In the 86th minute, Joel Amorim got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Joel Amorim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Afonso Viegas having to interfere. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched SC Orelhudo eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
