The goalkeeper, Afonso Fonseca, was totally fooled by SC Sabaris's Eduardo Pacheco, who 6 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Jaime Aguiar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jaime Aguiar got free with Afonso Fonseca in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. SC Balazar were furious when Jorge Amaral was red carded, 24 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 23rd minute, one of SC Balazar:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for SC Balazar. If Humberto Leal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 34th match minute, SC Balazar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Afonso Anjos to maneuver through the defense. SC Sabaris's Humberto Leal suffered a sore thigh after 36 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Daniel Anjos charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Daniel Anjos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 36th minute of the game. One of SC Balazar:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of SC Sabaris:s goal. Eduardo Pacheco placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Adolfo Ferro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 43 minutes, Afonso Correia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Balazar's supporters crossed their fingers, but Afonso Correia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Adolfo Ferro kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Afonso Fonseca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jaime Aguiar, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. A collision led to SC Balazar getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Afonso Anjos hit a great ball. Afonso Fonseca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joaquim Anjos in the 56th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jaime Aguiar in the 58th minute of play forced SC Balazar's goalkeeper Afonso Fonseca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fábio Araújo kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jaime Aguiar in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Afonso Fonseca saved SC Balazar from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Jaime Aguiar managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Sabaris's supporters rose to their feet, but Jaime Aguiar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. SC Sabaris fully deserved thier win.
