In the 15th minute Sebastião Aleixo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rafael Setúbal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Duarte Guarda's late challenge caught a SC Malhadouro's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After having played for 30 minutes, Catarino Reis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Malhadouro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Catarino Reis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Paulo Santos kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. It was beautiful to see SC Malhadouro's Diamantino Ferreira in action when he in the 33rd minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Catarino Reis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 37th minute, Catarino Reis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sebastião Aleixo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Petisgueira FC defense, Catarino Reis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rafael Setúbal. The Petisgueira FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rafael Setúbal should have stopped the shot. Catarino Reis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Rafael Setúbal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bento Baptista recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 48 minutes into the match, SC Malhadouro's Sebastião Aleixo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rafael Setúbal narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After the first half SC Malhadouro were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sebastião Aleixo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Diogo Gomes fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Petisgueira FC's protests and gave Diogo Gomes a yellow card for diving instead. After 54 played minutes Petisgueira FC got a freekick which was hit by Diogo Gomes. After a defensive mix-up in SC Malhadouro's zone, Pedro Teixeira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nuno Pinheiro came out of the goal and Pedro Teixeira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Bento Baptista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 68 played minutes SC Malhadouro got a freekick which was hit by Rogério Porto. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sebastião Aleixo in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rafael Setúbal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rafael Setúbal was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from José Marques. Sebastião Aleixo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Rafael Setúbal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sebastião Aleixo in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rafael Setúbal saved Petisgueira FC from getting behind. Rogério Porto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. SC Malhadouro were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
