After 3rd play minutes Viriato Neves shot 0-1, a short shot which went by João Assunção and just under the crossbar into goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Américo Viana managed to get in a good position for a shot. Valdrez FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Américo Viana was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eduardo Assunção breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Valdrez FC getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Mariano Guarda hit a great ball. João Assunção showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sandro Ramos, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. In the 25th minute, Hélder Fontes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Valdrez FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. When Hélder Fontes came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Valdrez FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hélder Fontes couldn't finish the play. If Cristóvão Gomes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 48thth minute of the game Américo Viana who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Peixeninho's Eduardo Assunção was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Américo Viana stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristóvão Gomes in the 52nd minute of play forced Valdrez FC's goalkeeper João Assunção to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristóvão Gomes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eduardo Assunção showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Américo Viana in the 63rd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hélder Fontes in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eduardo Assunção prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 65 played minutes Peixeninho got a freekick which was hit by Viriato Neves. 67 minutes into the match, Peixeninho's goal looked a bit too open when Américo Viana came free, but Eduardo Assunção reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eduardo Assunção showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Américo Viana, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Peixeninho's Cristóvão Gomes got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rafael Neves during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Cristóvão Gomes struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. João Assunção didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Peixeninho. When Américo Viana fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Valdrez FC's protests and gave Américo Viana a yellow card for diving instead. Américo Viana hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. 86 minutes into the match, Sandro Ramos notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Valdrez FC's João Assunção. João Assunção was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After having played for 92 minutes, Sandro Ramos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Peixeninho's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sandro Ramos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Américo Viana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Peixeninho had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
