Sérgio Leiria came free with the goalkeeper in the 3rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Vítor Fonseca could save by the left post. Nuno Melo kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. Sérgio Gueifão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jaime Antunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diamantino Ferro having to interfere. 14 minutes into the game, Amadeu Moniz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Frangoneiro's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Girabolhos the free kick. After 15 played minutes, SC Girabolhos's Emanuel Trindade shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Diamantino Ferro came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SC Girabolhos reached it. Jaime Antunes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Diamantino Ferro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Amadeu Moniz kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. If Sérgio Leiria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tiago Figueiredo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vítor Fonseca having to interfere. After 31 played minutes SC Girabolhos got a freekick which was hit by Mariano Machado. SC Frangoneiro's André Nascimento couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for SC Girabolhos. Sérgio Gueifão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jaime Antunes to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, SC Girabolhos's Jaime Antunes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Diamantino Ferro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Diamantino Ferro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime Antunes in the 58th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Tiago Figueiredo managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Frangoneiro's supporters rose to their feet, but Tiago Figueiredo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vítor Fonseca breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 95th minute, Hélder Dantas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Diamantino Ferro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sérgio Gueifão in the 96th minute. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
