The referee showed Rui Azevedo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 8th minute, one of SC Espozade:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for SC Espozade. When the match had been going on for 10 minutes, Terlamonte FC's Basílio Vaz got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. Terlamonte FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vicente Cunha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pedro Dias made a kick off. If Óscar Morais had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Abel Torres showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Óscar Morais in the 72nd minute of the match. The supporters of Terlamonte FC booed when SC Espozade was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. André Amaral didn't get a good kick on the ball. Basílio Vaz's shot from long distance was a real pearl which went to the right and just passed Abel Torres - 2-1 was put on the score board in the 77th minute. After a rather tough play, Terlamonte FC's Manuel Pedroso got a free kick in the 83rd minute. In the 84th minute, Fábio Moniz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Abel Torres stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vicente Cunha's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. SC Espozade's Abel Torres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vicente Cunha in the 93rd minute of play. SC Espozade's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
