Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Afonso Pinho started the match with the kick off. Fábio Cabral stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Carlos Valente's shot from short distance in the 3rd minute. In the 11th minute, Francisco Dantas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nuno Cruz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. António Queirós tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Garrobo's Fábio Cabral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Valente in the 17th minute of play. 18 minutes into the game, Daniel Fonseca was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Lagos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Garrobo the free kick. The supporters of Garrobo booed when SC Lagos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Fonseca didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 22 minutes, Afonso Pinho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Lagos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Afonso Pinho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 25 played minutes SC Lagos got a freekick which was hit by Fernando Nunes. The attack was good, but when Nuno Cruz in the 26th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. 28 minutes into the match, SC Lagos's goal looked a bit too open when Francisco Dantas came free, but António Queirós reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fábio Cabral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Valente in the 30th minute of the match. The Garrobo fans' excitement grew in the 32nd match minute when Garrobo's Francisco Dantas looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 36th play minutes Carlos Valente shot 1-1, a short shot which went by Fábio Cabral and just under the crossbar into goal. After a rather tough play, SC Lagos's Fernando Nunes got a free kick in the 40th minute. In the 42nd minute, Francisco Dantas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Francisco Dantas came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Garrobo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Francisco Dantas couldn't finish the play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Francisco Dantas to make the kick off. Garrobo's Fábio Cabral proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Garrobo from getting a goal against them. When Francisco Dantas, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 57 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The António Queirós was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. After 58 played minutes SC Lagos got a freekick which was hit by Fernando Nunes. If Francisco Dantas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlos Valente received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Fábio Cabral came out and tried to block the shot, but Carlos Valente slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 68th minute. After having played for 72 minutes, Nuno Cruz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Garrobo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nuno Cruz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marco Veiga kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Lagos's goalkeeper António Queirós, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Garrobo booed when SC Lagos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernando Nunes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Garrobo's Adelino Guerreiro got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Carlos Valente recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Garrobo's zone, Afonso Pinho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fábio Cabral came out of the goal and Afonso Pinho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Afonso Barbosa charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Afonso Barbosa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of SC Lagos booed when Garrobo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Afonso Barbosa didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. SC Lagos walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
