Manuel Azevedo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After 7 played minutes SC Gramaca got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Figueiredo. Jacinto Maia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Manuel Azevedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nuno Santarém in the 18th minute of the match. The supporters of SC Gramaca booed when SC Quadra was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacinto Maia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Adelino Cruz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Manuel Azevedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nuno Santarém to strike the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Nuno Santarém dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Manuel Azevedo, 0-2. Duarte Assis kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Barbosa in the 59th minute of play forced SC Gramaca's goalkeeper Vítor Ramos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Adelino Cruz took the ball and in the 64 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Manuel Azevedo. Manuel Azevedo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. After having played for 94 minutes, Nuno Santarém managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Gramaca's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nuno Santarém was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Adelino Cruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
