The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. SC Alganhafres's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Pazide the free kick. After 16 played minutes SC Alganhafres got a freekick which was hit by David Nunes. David Nunes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but António Fontes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. Rogério Azevedo struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. António Fontes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Alganhafres. If Rogério Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. SC Pazide's António Fontes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorge Freitas in the 24th minute of play. Hugo Alves's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but André Delgado firmly grabbed it by the left post. After some careless play in the SC Alganhafres defense, Hugo Alves kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of André Delgado. The SC Alganhafres fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that André Delgado should have stopped the shot. SC Alganhafres's Rogério Azevedo got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Jorge Freitas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. André Delgado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hugo Alves in the 88th minute of the match. Afonso Paredes hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. If Hugo Alves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
