Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Jorge Matos got the match started through his kick off. Abel Barros charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Abel Barros the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Miguel Correia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Américo Teixeira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 16th minute, Lúcio Tavares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, José Cruz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Poutena's supporters rose to their feet, but José Cruz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tiago Costa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Poutena's Jorge Matos in the 21st minute got a chance for a shot 21st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 30thth minute of the game Miguel Correia who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Poutena's Américo Teixeira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Tiago Costa made an important save on a dangerous shot by José Cruz in the 32nd minute. Américo Teixeira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miguel Correia in the 35th minute of the match. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind Espadaneira FC's goalkeeper Tiago Costa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Fernando Monteiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Américo Teixeira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Espadaneira FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The wind increased when Fernando Monteiro made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 52 minutes, José Cruz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Poutena's supporters crossed their fingers, but José Cruz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Poutena getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Manuel Pinto hit a great ball. Fernando Monteiro was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 57th minute. Espadaneira FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Amadeu Matos's late challenge caught a Espadaneira FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Amadeu Matos helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Espadaneira FC booed when Poutena was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amadeu Matos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Poutena's Américo Teixeira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save Poutena from getting a goal against them. Lúcio Tavares's late challenge caught a Poutena's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lúcio Tavares helped the player get up and apologised. Lúcio Tavares hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Américo Teixeira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernando Monteiro in the 77th minute of play. Jorge Matos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tiago Costa having to interfere. Espadaneira FC's Tiago Costa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Cruz in the 82nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Poutena's zone, Miguel Correia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Américo Teixeira came out of the goal and Miguel Correia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Américo Teixeira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernando Monteiro in the 94th minute of play. 96 minutes into the match, Jorge Matos notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Espadaneira FC's Tiago Costa. Tiago Costa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Espadaneira FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
