Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) With a little luck, SC Lares's José Amaro got control of the ball when Álvaro Brito tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rafael Aguiar's late challenge caught a Argomil's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rafael Aguiar helped the player get up and apologised. Rafael Aguiar kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. A collision led to SC Lares getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Basílio Moura hit a great ball. Alexandre Rodrigues took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from André Sá, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. José Amaro was out of position in the 22 minute of play, and Humberto Brito capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Humberto Brito really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. Alexandre Rodrigues showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from André Sá, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. André Sá received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Alexandre Rodrigues tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of SC Lares booed when Argomil was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raul Vaz didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers André Sá in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alexandre Rodrigues saved Argomil from getting behind. When André Sá came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the SC Lares fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that André Sá couldn't finish the play. 40 minutes into the match, Rafael Aguiar had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alexandre Rodrigues. Argomil's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rafael Aguiar was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. The audience was convinced that André Sá's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alexandre Rodrigues was relentless in the 43rd minute of the game. After 44 played minutes Argomil got a freekick which was hit by José Nascimento. Alexandre Rodrigues didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hugo Garcia went, in the 45th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. André Sá was the one to do the kick off. In the 59th minute of the match SC Lares got a corner. Argomil's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cristiano Brás ran over to the corner to take the kick. Humberto Brito struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. José Amaro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Argomil. If Humberto Brito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Álvaro Brito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Amaro having to interfere. In the 71st minute, Argomil's Vasco Maia seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Vasco Maia the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Argomil protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Vasco Maia had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Argomil fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 70th minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Alexandre Rodrigues, was totally fooled by SC Lares's Cristiano Brás, who 73 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Álvaro Brito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Amaro having to interfere. José Amaro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Álvaro Brito in the 88th minute of play. A collision led to Argomil getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. João Costa hit a great ball. In the 93rd minute, Hugo Garcia fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Alexandre Rodrigues, passed just outside the right post. 98 minutes into the match, SC Lares's goal looked a bit too open when Álvaro Brito came free, but José Amaro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 98 minutes, José Nascimento managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Argomil's supporters crossed their fingers, but José Nascimento was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
