The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abel Branco in the 5th minute of play forced Gumirais's goalkeeper Lourenço Garcia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Gumirais getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Eusébio Gaspar hit a great ball. In the 7th minute Abel Branco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lourenço Garcia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Armindo Mota received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. André Queirós came out and tried to block the shot, but Armindo Mota slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 8th minute. The supporters of Louzadela booed when Gumirais was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eusébio Gaspar didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 12 minutes, Abel Branco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Louzadela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abel Branco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Louzadela's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Armindo Mota 14 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-0. When Louzadela's Abel Branco in the 23rd minute got a chance for a shot 23rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Gumirais's goalie prevented a goal. When Gumirais's Armindo Mota in 28 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. André Queirós guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Basílio Rodrigues who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 29thth minute tested the skills of André Queirós when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Lourenço Garcia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abel Branco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 32 minutes into the game, Rui Silva was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Louzadela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gumirais the free kick. In the 35th play minute Basílio Rodrigues came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised André Queirós. 3-0. When Basílio Rodrigues came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Gumirais fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Basílio Rodrigues couldn't finish the play. If Armindo Mota had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lúcio Borges charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lúcio Borges the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Louzadela's Lúcio Borges got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Basílio Rodrigues sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 45 minutes into the match, Gumirais's Armindo Mota sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that André Queirós narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 48th minute of the match, Armindo Mota tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but André Queirós saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hugo Pacheco to make the kick off. The supporters of Gumirais booed when Louzadela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lúcio Borges didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 58 minutes, Basílio Rodrigues managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gumirais's supporters crossed their fingers, but Basílio Rodrigues was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. André Queirós showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Basílio Rodrigues in the 66th minute of the match. André Queirós didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Basílio Rodrigues went, in the 67th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Armindo Mota in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck André Queirós prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 74th minute Basílio Rodrigues shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but André Queirós saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Armindo Mota came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Gumirais fans jumped to their feet. Bento Lima's late challenge caught a Louzadela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bento Lima helped the player get up and apologised.
