The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 7 minutes into the match, Emílio Moura notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of SC Capelo's Américo Queirós. Américo Queirós was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Emílio Paredes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 14th minute, Emílio Moura ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Américo Queirós was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Inácio Pacheco hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Joaquim Cardoso took the ball and in the 21 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lúcio Aleixo. Lúcio Aleixo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Manuel Magalhães sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Pedro Aguiar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the SC Quintiaes defense, Joaquim Cardoso kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lúcio Aleixo. The SC Quintiaes fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lúcio Aleixo should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Pedro Aguiar managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Capelo's supporters rose to their feet, but Pedro Aguiar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lúcio Aleixo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pedro Aguiar to strike the kick off in the second half. Emílio Paredes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marco Ferro's late challenge caught a SC Quintiaes's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marco Ferro helped the player get up and apologised. Marco Ferro kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. In the 54th match minute, SC Quintiaes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emílio Moura to maneuver through the defense. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Quintiaes's goalkeeper Lúcio Aleixo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Joaquim Cardoso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Lúcio Aleixo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 70th minute, Armando Vale hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 76th minute, Emílio Paredes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Armando Vale managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Quintiaes's supporters rose to their feet, but Armando Vale was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Américo Queirós breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 86th minute Emílio Moura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Américo Queirós saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 87 minutes, Joaquim Cardoso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Capelo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joaquim Cardoso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Armando Vale fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Quintiaes's protests and gave Armando Vale a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of SC Capelo booed when SC Quintiaes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Armando Vale didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rodrigo Torres struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Lúcio Aleixo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Capelo. Joaquim Cardoso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Lúcio Aleixo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
