Nuno Ferreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marco Paredes in the 6th minute of play. Basílio Pinheiro's late challenge caught a Corticadas FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Basílio Pinheiro helped the player get up and apologised. Basílio Pinheiro hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. The supporters of Corticadas FC booed when SC Araujo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manuel Soares didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 12 played minutes, Corticadas FC's Eduardo Rodrigues shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Vítor Barbosa came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Corticadas FC reached it. SC Araujo's Marco Paredes got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Marco Paredes had several of the Corticadas FC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 15 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Nuno Ferreira as he didn't even see the shot coming. Marco Paredes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cláudio Marques kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. The supporters of Corticadas FC booed when SC Araujo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruno Simões didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nuno Ferreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marco Paredes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Armindo Jesus's late challenge caught a Corticadas FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Armindo Jesus helped the player get up and apologised. After 46 played minutes SC Araujo got a freekick which was hit by Armindo Jesus. 49 minutes had been played when some careless play by SC Araujo's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Eduardo Rodrigues was slow to take the kick. During this time Corticadas FC's players had a chance to rest. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Manuel Matos was the one to do the kick off. Marco Paredes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 56th minute Marco Paredes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nuno Ferreira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nuno Pedroso kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gonçalo Mendes during the 58th minute. Vítor Barbosa came out of the goal and Gonçalo Mendes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. SC Araujo's Marco Paredes got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Manuel Matos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 87 minutes, Gonçalo Mendes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Corticadas FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gonçalo Mendes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marco Paredes succeeded in the game's 92nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-0.
