Óscar Monteiro came out of the goal and Albertino Matias tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ricardo Cunha in the 6thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Óscar Monteiro, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 10th minute, José Gonçalves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in SC Mafomedes's zone, Manuel Sousa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vítor Machado came out of the goal and Manuel Sousa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ricardo Cunha during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Manuel Sousa in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vítor Machado prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Eduardo Simões, 19 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 20th minute, Diamantino Andrade hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when André Vale stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The coaching staff of SC Mafomedes protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Adolfo Jesus had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 52 minutes into the game, one of SC Mafomedes:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Basílio Ribeiro kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. The Bocado supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Bocado would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
